Gamcheon Culture Village (부산 감천문화마을)

Gamcheon Culture Village was built during the 1920/30s to relocate the poor from the hillsides away from the port, and later refuges of the Korean War and followers of the Taeguekdo religion. In order to be reborn as a cultural hub, the Saha District received funding in 2009 for urban regeneration, creating one of the most featured tourist attraction in Busan. Because of its location on a steep mountain side, Gamcheon is nicknamed the "Machu Picchu of Busan".

Gamcheon is a paradise for artists, photographers, and instagrammers. For everyone else, it's a niche community filled with both creative displays and modern art vomit. You can see all the major attractions in about 2 hours, or spend the whole day walking through residential alleys.
