Inaccessible temple of Mt. Geumjeong (석불사)

Seokbul Temple is located in the sandstone cliffs on Geumjeongsan (Mt. Geumjeong), the highest mountain in Busan.  It was founded by a monk named曺鉉 in the 1930s during Japanese colonial occupation, who chose the location for its unique rock formations. This monk is also responsible for all of the stone carvings at the site.

Despite being one of the more arduous walks to reach a temple, Seokbulsa was an incredible experience. The atmosphere is serene and the carvings are incredible. It's seclusion pretty much ensures you'll have no issue getting any photo you want.

Check out some of my personal photos below. Enjoy!
